Visiting hours at the Wakefield Memorial Hospital
Visits to hospitalized users are from 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The number of visitors or accompanying persons is restricted to two at a time.
Prosthetic Unit: This unit for users with cognitive deficits is considered a living environment, even though it is located within the hospital. Family members or significant persons can therefore visit users at all times. Obviously, visitors must behave in a way that will maintain a calm and safe environment.
Emergency and observation rooms: The number of visitors or accompanying persons is restricted to one person at a time and no children under 12 will be admitted as visitors to the emergency or observation areas.
During infectious disease outbreaks: No children under 12 will be allowed to visit hospitalized users, in order to reduce the risks of propagation. Children over 12 and adults must comply with the particular preventive measures specified for the outbreak.
Palliative Care Unit: Users in the terminal phase of their illness may have visitors at all times and there is no restriction on the number of visitors allowed.
At all times:
Management reserves the right to issue a restriction on visits or take temporary restrictive measures to avoid the spread of an infectious disease or to ensure the safest possible care environment for both clientele and personnel.
It is clear that persons who do not feel well or who present obvious signs of an infectious disease, such as a cough or fever, should refrain from visiting hospitalized patients.
Management also requests visitors to wash their hands on entering the hospital, or to use the alcoholised gel, without rinsing, that is available at the doors, close to the elevators and in the corridors.
