Residential Long Care Services
The CSSS des Collines offers residential services for persons who, by reason of loss of functional or psychosocial autonomy, can no longer live in their homes despite the support of family and friends. Here is a brief description of these services:
1. Institutional residential care:
A residential centre of 32 permanent and 2 temporary beds is located in Masham. There is also a special 10-bed unit for adults suffering from cognitive problems. For the moment, these 10 beds are located in the hospital. In addition to lodging, these institutions offer nursing care, assistance, support and supervision, as well as living environment, psychosocial, pharmaceutical, medical and rehabilitative services.
2. Non-institutional residential care:
The CSSS des Collines offers two types of residential services for persons who can no longer live at home but who require a less intensive level of services than that provided in residential and long-term care centres. Two types of residence are available, depending on the needs of the persons in question, i.e., family-type resources (FTR) and intermediate resources (IR). These IRs and FTRs are attached to a public health institution. They provide residential services to adults who are registered for these services, in order to provide them with a living environment adapted to their needs. They offer them the support and assistance services required by their condition, or enable them to enjoy living conditions similar to those of a natural environment.
The Manoir de Wakefield is a private residential residence which, through a service contract, reserves 10 residential places for our clientele suffering heavy autonomy loss. This is an interesting example of partnership between the public and private sectors.
